THE ETHIC FOR SOCIETY AND ROLE OF STATE

CHOOSE FRIENDSHIPS AND COLLABORATIONS AND BEWARE FOR WHO YOU ARE ENCOURAGING AND STRENGTHEN IN SOCIE­TY!

A brief example will show the answer of Ethics for spiritually oriented life and how human life in a spiritual direction is protected. The answer is close to what we would tell with the cave allegory, as Plato famously word it with an exemplary combination of creative and logical thinking and poetical art together. We here will imagine a relationship with hostages, slaves and masters. In the position of oppressors and rulers we can imagine the State, but also the sensible world:

1) Hostages react hastily, violently and aggressively, without taking into account the conse­quences. (No moral, uncivil and reckless behavior and irrespon­sibility).

2) Hostages do not react, discipline and patiently wait for an opportunity or favorable conditions to escape. (Cowardice and naive compromise).

3) Hostages are not only disciplined, but are offered to serve their rulers, are betrayers, and at every opportunity strive to gain their good esteem and become their associates. Some have not realized that they are victims of exploitation and they dream of being on the other side with oppressors. (Compromise and cases of cowardice, irrespon­sibility and hypocrisy). 

4) Hostages are hypocritically disciplined, offered to serve their rulers with whatever abilities they can, to create opportunities and exploit information and then escape. (Ethics with wiliness, with plan and patience). The fourth case is closer to our choice. Rather we should to think similar about a political struggle. Choose which of the four groups you want to belong to!

Silent patience, invisible foresight, imagination and thinking are evidenced necessary, the same if not more, as much as discipline and bravery that usually are shown with pride. The inner orientation of life is a quiet revolution, carried out with thoughts, with doubts, with correct assessments and with resistance to tempting experiences. As we turn to ourselves spiritually, this way of life prevents and overthrows the self-centered monster of others, through our relation­ships and activities. The awareness of our great ignorance, the restrained action, impartial thought and the power of reason are our explosives. Ethics and reaction are not incompatible and reaction in accordance to ethics is not blind. It is a clever response and is directed against injustice, lying, actions that use lies, and collaborations that maintain or exploit injustice. So here is the necessary and leading role of Ethic (inward-looking and in conjunction with thought), and see why its inner-orientation should not be interpreted as an antisocial phenomenon. We need to be "good" people aware of how a "bad" person behaves and we prepared to react with bravery and cruelty when needed. Not to be "good" because of nonsense and cowardice. Disagreement, controversy and reaction frustrate or hamper the efforts of some ambitious people and speculators, and then we may be deprived of some opportunities and advantages. On the contrary, the compromise is tempting if think about some returns. It often indicates responsibility, but more often it shows cowardice, irresponsibility, not impartiality and unethical synergy. Defending the truth, fearless expression of thought, and claims usually do not present the person "social" and, on the contrary, sometimes is presented as "aggressive" and provocative. The notion of "impartiality" and "law" are inseparable from "sincerity" and are easily sacrificed by compromise. With a compromised life and a more enjoyable image of a "social" person, we may as well abandon ourselves, in opposite of as is many times looks. We want peace, harmonious coexistence, to solve problems in a logical and friendly way. Under what conditions, though? What peace when injustice erupts, when truth is imprisoned, when many people's lives are sacrificed for the ambitious plans of some powerful, when some foolish standards are imposed and the causes of disputes and conflicts multiply, when speculators govern the State? We want peace without injustice, exploitation, oppression, illusions, without irrational terms and obli­gations. Some would like all the benefits for their own life and any reaction banned, but the world is not as they imagine. If the world cannot be corrected and we as individuals can do nothing, it does not mean that we untroubled will accept the world as it is and we will reward the compromised people! Many are that we do not expect to change, but that does not mean that everyone remains apathetic, calm and compromised.
