A word with its abstract meaning can keep our attention on a remark or a thought, while with an image our attention can be accidental
and wandering.
"A picture is a thousand words." With this brief thought we explain that from one image we are more informed and better understood. As
always, an incomplete truth hides the rest of the truth and creates a delusion. What is required in our thinking is not always to
increase the amount of information. Understanding also does not always come from increasing the amount of information. Indeed, an image
has a quantity and density of information, and it is half truth. However, what we want to know and our observation to focus on is not
all the information that an image gives to vision. It is not certain that we will immediately disclose the requested information and
that it will come to our attention. This is a "flaw" of image for the knowledge. E.g. by looking at image of an animal, everyone can
focus their attention on different features of the image and keep different information.
As more we research and observe an image,
increasingly information we will draw and more thoughts will be stimulated (such as, for example, a resemblance to another animal). An
expert (eg in X-rays, rocks, etc.) could apply some observation methods or some reaction methods to a sample and learn something that no
one else would have concluded. The advantage of an audible signal (as with phonetic expression of human language) is that it isolates
the minimum information and focuses attention on it, without the need for more thought and research. This is a shortening and
simplification of language and an advantage for communication and life. The symbols that are images, they are also designed simply
(designs with a few lines maybe with a few colors) to summarize philosophies and purposes and to remind events. We do not put a clear
photo as a flag e.g. a geographical location. A picture may be a thousand words and many pictures are many
thousands of words, perhaps a reason to write many books. But it can happen that you stop thinking, everyone thinks as they choose with
different observations in same picture or you think unnecessarily just because there is a lot of information and simply they stimulate
thinking. If human thought does not set a limit or a purpose or a question, then images pass and go and leave only our emotional
reaction (impressions). We can understand something from a single word that we could not understand if we saw all images of the
world. For this reason, on the contrary, a single word that is not used correctly and in accordance with features of the world, such a word
is enough to hinder understanding or to introduce imaginary creatures into our concept of the real world (that is, to confuse reality
with imagination).
Illusion of
knowledge and exploitation of trust! |

When one thinks that has knowledge or that he knows better implies that has an advantage and can achieve an effect. This is a
wrong view.
